Breakwater Chicago is a floating entertainment destination that will be anchored off-shore on Lake Michigan, providing boaters will their first major boating destination in the Chicago Harbor, and non-boaters with access to the boating community via water-taxis. This 50,000 square foot floating venue will offer a portfolio of entertainment options, including: multiple restaurants, health & wellness spa, nightclub, event space, private club, shoppes, and even swimming pools! During winter months the vessel will be anchored to shore and encapsulated with a clear air-structure dome, providing a local escape during harsh Chicago winters. This cover allows UV light to pass through, which means that you can work on your suntan on a sunny but cold day in January. Breakwater Chicago LLC announced this project alongside a Kickstarter campaign, after two years of diligence and conceptual design, and media coverage has been tremendous.
