Writing software is generally a solitary activity. It is hard for software developers to learn about the history of their systems and to learn from each other. We are building tools for developers so that they can better understand how their systems have evolved and so that average developers can learn from the great ones. We are completely rethinking version control systems with an emphasis on recording valuable information that currently is left on the cutting room floor.
